The Snow Wave Fingerless Mitts are an exciting textural project that beautifully showcases the color variations in KPPPM. These mitts are knitted flat and worked back - and forth using short rows. It's a perfect project for intermediate knitters looking to practice new techniques. Designed by Angela Muhlpfordt. You'll need US 2/3mm needles, waste yarn in a contrasting color for provisional cast on, 4 stitch markers, and a tapestry needle (not included). The mitt is in a medium size, which can be easily adjusted for bigger hands, and there's a chart for size L. The gauge is 30 stitches and 52 rows (26 ribs) = 4 inches/10 cm in garter stitch. They are shown in Koigu Pencil Paint Can, Winter Tapestry (5 X 25g/87yds/80m) 100% Merino Wool.

Using your US 2/3mm needles and the provided pattern, start knitting the mitt flat, working back and forth with short rows. Remember to use the waste yarn in a contrasting color for the provisional cast on at the beginning. Mark your stitches with the stitch markers as you go. The mitt is designed in a medium size, but if you have bigger hands, use the included size L chart to adjust. Once you've finished knitting, use the tapestry needle to weave in the loose ends. Since the mitts are made of 100% Merino Wool, hand - wash them in cool water and lay them flat to dry to keep them in good shape. Keep the stitch markers and tapestry needle in a safe place for future projects.
