Product Detail
The Ice Cube Scarf/Cowl is a charming crocheted piece crafted from 3 rows of 26 blocks each, totaling 78 squares. You can leave the ends open to wear it as a scarf or join them for a cozy cowl. You can join the squares as you work or stitch them together at the end. This scarf is designed to use a Koigu paint can or 435 yards of your favorite Koigu KPPPM colors. Designed by Joanna Clayson, it requires a 3.5mm crochet hook (or size to get the right gauge) and a tapestry needle, though these are not included. When blocked, it measures 59 inches long and 7 inches wide. Each square is 2 inches by 2 inches unblocked and 2 1/4 inches by 2 1/4 inches when blocked. It's shown in Koigu Pencil Paint Can, Ice Princess (5 X 25g/87yds/80m) 100% Merino Wool.
To make your Ice Cube Scarf/Cowl, first gather your materials: a 3.5mm crochet hook, a tapestry needle, and either a Koigu paint can or 435 yards of Koigu KPPPM yarn in your favorite colors. Crochet 78 squares in 3 rows of 26 squares each. As you work, you can choose to join the squares together as you go or wait until you've finished all the squares and then stitch them together with the tapestry needle. If you want a scarf, leave the ends open. For a cowl, simply join the ends. When you're done crocheting, block the piece to get the correct measurements - it should be 59 inches long and 7 inches wide. As for maintenance, since it's made of 100% Merino Wool, it's best to hand - wash it in cool water with a gentle wool detergent. Lay it flat to dry to keep its shape.
