From the designer: In the series' recent spinoff, Carrie Bradshaw was seen carrying a large accessory around New York City. That accessory turned out to be an oversized, dramatically draped shawl, which comforted her before and after a medical procedure. Many didn't notice that this bold blanket - like shawl is a must - have wearable with big fringe, colorful yarn, and a simple stockinette stitch with polished details. For those who don't want to spend nearly $3,000 on the original, this kit lets you knit your own! Designed by Christine Carpenter. You can download the pattern from the designer's Ravelry store. It's one - size fits all. The finished shawl measures 93.5' across (wingspan) and 50' down (from top edge to bottom curve), excluding fringe. You'll need a US Size 17 (12 mm) 40' circular needle (not included), a tapestry needle, and a US Size L (8 mm) crochet hook for attaching fringe. The shawl is shown in Madelinetosh ASAP in Texas Tulips color, and you'll need 10 skeins.

Then, gather your tools - you'll need a US Size 17 (12 mm) 40' circular needle, a tapestry needle, and a US Size L (8 mm) crochet hook. Start knitting with the Madelinetosh ASAP yarn in Texas Tulips color. Follow the simple stockinette stitch as described in the pattern. Once you're done knitting the main part of the shawl, use the crochet hook to attach the big fringe. As for maintenance, hand - wash the shawl in cool water with a gentle detergent. Lay it flat to dry to keep its shape. Avoid wringing or twisting the shawl, as this can damage the yarn. When not in use, store it in a dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent color fading.
